With the dreaded virus abound many of us are looking for effective ways to boost our immune system at the moment. I am staying fairly positive here, thank goodness. That means I am including lots of healthy stuff in my daily cuisine. However, with current times of concern, I’ve taken things up a notch and started making this delicious immune boosting smoothie.

In this post, I am sharing my current favourite recipe for health. This smoothie is designed to blast away any nasties and boost your immune system fast.  It also gives you a fighting chance at fending off any sneaky viruses, bugs and whatnot.

I am not holding back. The two key ingredients that I am loading up on are turmeric and ginger. You can scroll down and find out why (and find the recipe to print below).

Check out my video here and please do give it a thumbs up on YouTube for me…

Here’s why I am loading up on ginger…

Exceptional antioxidant content
An antioxidant is a molecule that is able to inhibit the oxidation of other molecules. Oxidation often produces free radicals which, then start a chain reaction that can damage cells. In extreme cases, leading to cancer. Antioxidants intervene by getting rid of these free radicals and preventing damage. Ginger is literally loaded with antioxidants! It blasts away bugs and viruses like there is no tomorrow.

Ginger is exactly the sort of thing we want in a smoothie to boost our immune system.

Here’s why I am loading up on turmeric in my smoothie…

The health benefits of turmeric are nothing short of remarkable. It is thought to be just as powerful as pharmaceutical drugs but WITHOUT the side effects.

Turmeric is an antioxidant superstar perfect for and immune boosting smoothie

Antioxidants are compounds in food that are said to help stop damage to our cells by free radicals. Free radicals are scavengers in the body that can harm our cells if you don’t stop them. When everything is in balance then the human body naturally removes normal levels of free radicals from our body. Pollution in addition to less healthy food or lifestyle choices can increase free radicals in our bodies a heck of a lot. In turn, this can lead to most western diseases, such as cancer, heart disease, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, asthma, arthritis, psoriasis, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, etc. Free radicals are where it all starts, so we definitely want to keep them in check.

Antioxidants help to remove free radicals. Whilst, at the same time, they increase the natural antioxidant strenth of our own bodies. Their rather helpful way of slowing down the ageing process, whilst warding off disease and illness.

Turmeric is said to be a plant with one of the highest levels of antioxidant power known on this planet. Studies have shown that the curcuminoids in turmeric are very effective at finding and neutralising free radicals. It is also thought that turmeric helps to prevent the development of free radicals.

Regular use of turmeric in our daily lives (preferably along with other healthy lifestyle choices) could literally stave off all sorts of illnesses and diseases thanks to its remarkable properties. A smoothie is an excellent way to use turmeric to boost your immune system.
