Energetically speaking, when it comes to chai (tea), there’s nothing quite like making your own! I am not JUST making a cup of chai. To me it is a spiritual adventure.
As I am sure you know, spirituality is in everything. It’s in the way I feel connected with each spice; feeling the energy inspire my senses – the aroma, the taste, the unique soulful healing properties.
It’s in the way that each ingredient ‘speaks’ to me, strengthening the life force that flows through my whole being.
All that from a cup of chai? YES!
Appreciation, connection & flow
It’s about the appreciation, the connection and the flow. Just taking a little time (which can be momentary) to bring our awareness to the gifts before us, can make the world of difference.
Cardamom & Ginger Chai
This recipe is really easy. I’ve purposefully kept it to fewer ingredients than my regular Masala Chai recipe, so that these gems can really shine through.
The spirituality of cardamom
Spiritually speaking, the energy of cardamom has the power to cut through the confusion of a busy mind, creating more clarity, whilst helping to lift heavy, depressed feelings. Cardamom encourages us to become more present, in the ‘here-and-now’, as well as helping to open the third-eye to awaken out inner realms of deeper insight. It has an incredible aroma, a sweet, spicy taste and is laden with health benefits. Read all about it here: All About Cardamom
The benefits of ginger
Ginger is exceptionally beneficial for us. Life can be challenging enough… but adding ginger to your daily cuisine means that you’ll be getting a supportive dose of Mother Nature’s superfood to keep you healthy and on track. It’s rare that I go a day without ginger these days.
It feels like it keeps my energy flowing at times when it might otherwise become stagnant. On a practical level, it’s a powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-flatulent spice that promotes healthy circulation and blood flow. Apart from that it adds an exciting zesty, zingy bliss to this chai recipe. Read more here: All About Ginger
It embraces the benefits of cardamom, ginger, rooibosh & plant-based milk. I’ve made a short video tutorial to demo the method here:

Trinity
Trinity, thank you so very much for this recipe (and idea); it has become my new favorite — from the shopping for the ingredients to the preparation process to sitting down and taking time to enjoy it. I started making almond milk recently — which I seem to really love — and I bought some caffeine-free rooibos at our local co-op and so the recipe works perfectly for me. Thanks, again, for this meaningful addition my days!
Fabulous. Thanks for taking the time to comment Yvonne. It really warms my heart to know that sharing my own favourites in this way finds it’s way to others who resonate too.
