Juicing can change your life. I know so many people who’ve experienced aggressive health conditions such as cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, cardio-vascular disease, chronic fatigue, depression etc. who have turned to juicing (along with a healthy plant-based diet), radically reclaiming their health! And there are loads of people like me, who really value health (long before the need for it to go downhill); embracing juicing and healthy eating is an excellent preventative measure…

Juicing is an awesome way to get a rich infusion
of powerful nutrients, really quickly.

People often ask me which juicer I use. It can be a little confusing because there are so many different models on the market, so I decided to create this page to help.

Which juicer do I use and recommend?

Matstone: Amazing Price for its Functionality

My absolute favourite is the Matstone juicer (known as the Samson in North America). I’ve tried many different juicers over the years and this one comes up top of my list for both juice production ability and price. I like it because it’s easy to assemble and easy to clean; it really squeezes out your fruits and vegetables to maximise the enzyme and nutritional benefits.

Masticating Juicer -v- Centrifugal (the 2 main types of juicer)

The Matstone is a masticating juicer, which basically means it gently mimics the action of your teeth. Essentially it is chewing the vegetables, greens and juice for you. You might struggle to munch through 8 salads in one go, but a masticating juicer does all the hard work effortlessly, leaving you with a super vibrant glassful. It really presses out as much juice as it possibly can. The masticating type is much slower, less aggressive and has many nutritional benefits over a centrifugal juicer.

The centrifugal juicer is the most common and least expensive type of juicer. It spins at high speed to force the pulp out. The action is more wild and leaves a lot more of the nutritional content in the pulp (that you throw away). Centrifugal juicers also struggle to juice greens like wheat-grass and kale.  However, if you only want a very occasional juice, then a centrifugal juicer would probably be your best option price-wise.

If you are wanting to get into regular home juicing then I can wholeheartedly recommend a masticating juicer, like the Matstone…

Carrot & Ginger Zinger

Here’s why I love it…

  • Juices wheat-grass, leafy greens, vegetables and hard fruits REALLY WELL!
  • Slow turning masticating juicer, retaining high quality nutrients.
  • Excellent price compared to other masticating juicers.
  • You can make raw vegan ice cream with it.
  • You can make nut butters, pates and even raw carrot cake with it.
  • You can even make pasta with it.
  • Comes with a whopping 12 year motor warranty.
  • Easy to clean.
  • Energy efficient with a quiet 1HP motor.

This juicer opens up a whole new world of health, and currently retails at around £179 in the UK and $225 in the USA. If you are new to juicing it might seem a lot, although compared to other good models, the price is a lot lower. And when you think about how much you value your health, it’s priceless.

Manual Juicer (for wheatgrass, greens veggies and hard fruits)

lexen_juicer_8The Lexen Manual Juicer is the ultimate juicer if you are on a tight budget or just don’t want to use electricity. It features a masticating live-enzyme cold press process and is excellent for kale, spinach, parsley, wheat-grass and veggies. Some of my friends use this and really feel like they connect with their food more by using this one.

  • It is excellent value with a high yield of juice (and minimal amount of pulp).
  • Perfect if you are new to juicing and want to ‘try it out’ without forking out for a bigger electric model.

It’s amazing value for money and is currently retailing at around £25 in the UK and $50 in the USA.
