I was feeling a bit sluggish last week. We do admittedly, have a very busy schedule here at our place; and with such a soul inspired life, I have infinitely more ideas (and things I’d love to create), than I can ever realistically put into action. Regulating and managing my ‘resting’ time isn’t one of my virtues either. Let’s see… what else has been making me feel over-stretched? Dare I say – Perhaps I’ve been over doing it a bit with the conscious desserts too. Gulp! Sweet treats are just so irresistible and once I get started, it’s difficult to take my foot off the pedal! And, of course, when writing a new recipe book they all need testing! What a tough life having to try out such a plethora a amazing delights.
Alas, I am reminded again – everything in moderation. No matter how healthy or conscious sweet treats are, we still have to get the balance right. My body tells me what it needs and heaven forbid if I ignore it… I seem to rapidly grind to a lethargic halt! “Listen!” it cries. At which point I quickly take note and immediately seek to re-balance things again…
So, I’ve decided to go easy on the dessert creations for now and start each day with a deep cleansing vegetable juice for breakfast. This allows my body time to rest and cleanse, whilst giving me a rich medley of immune boosting, rejuvenating support. It feels like it resets my system. Doesn’t take long either. A couple of days in and I am feeling so much better already!
Here’s a juice that feels so refreshingly cleansing with a real high vibrational energy. I could drink this every day.
Dandelion & Apple Juice
The apple gives it a lush sweetness, whilst the dandelions act as a general all round tonic – cleansing through the blood and giving the immune system a welcomed boost. Celery regulates the body’s alkaline balance, lowers blood pressure (perfect for us ‘never-know-when-to-stop’ types) and along with kale is full of essential vitamins and minerals. It’s just all amazing stuff. I can’t get enough of that ‘ahhhhh – this is what life is all about’ feeling when I take the first sip (and every sip after for that matter)!
- 2 sweet apples
- Big handful of youngish dandelion greens
- 3 large celery stalks
- 2 kale leaves
- a little ginger or garlic an extra boost
Enjoy and embrace the benefits of fresh, vibrant juice. I know, I do.
